Every year the U. S. Capitol Christmas Tree is harvested from one of the United States National Forests for display in front of the U. S. Capitol Building for the Christmas Holidays. North Carolina has been given this honor for the 2022 holiday season.
Murphy, North Carolina will be the first stop on the U. S. Capitol Christmas Tree Mountains to the Sea Tour. The Tree will be display on Peachtree Street in Downtown Murphy from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on November 6, 2022. But the fun doesn't end there. Valley River Avenue will also be closed to offer kids activities, caroling, demonstrations, food trucks, shopping, and dining. The event will feature Santa Claus available for pictures along with an array of other holiday characters. The fesitval will culminate with the lighting of Murphy's own Christmas Tree at 6:00 pm.
Activity vendors are being accepted who would like to provide a children's or family activity at no charge. There is no charge for the vendos. You may request donations if your booth represents a non-profit and you may advertise your business or organization. Contact the Chamber for more information.
